The proximity of the general election in November of 2024 in which Puerto Rico will be voting for a new governor generated interest in discussing who Jennifer Gonzalez is for Puerto Ricans who are skeptical about the traditional political parties dominating the political arena in Puerto Rico. We discuss Jennifer Gonzalez's loyalties and the political party she represents, its values and ideology. We dive deeper into trying to understand from a colonial perspective her identification with the Republican Party while they refuse to support statehood for Puerto Rico. This episode was a collaborative discussion with Boricuas Unidos en la Diaspora in which the host engages in a conversation with its president, Alberto Medina.
